This ancient temple is situated on the banks of the Neyyar river and is one of the 108 Shiva temples in Kerala. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva (Rameswara), and it is believed that Lord Rama worshipped there during his exile. The temple also has a Parvathy prathishta and sub-deities like Ganapathy and Naga devathas.
